WHITE HOUSE FARM

Our roadside stall was initially set up in 2019 to sell the apples, pears and plums grown on our farm at Grundisburgh and on the family farm at Charsfield.  During July to September we have eight different varieties of plums available, including greengages.  August sees the start of the apple harvest with Discovery, followed by Bramley, Katy, James Grieve, Cox, Red Pippin, Egremont Russet, Gala, Jonagored and Idared as well as Conference Pears.  These are all available from the stall, either individually or by the bucket as part of out Pick & Mix selection.

We now grow a variety of vegetables on the farm and 2021 saw the first planting of our large mixed squash and pumpkin patch, all of which can be bought at the stall.  Our friends, David and Janet Boon, have a smallholding at Ufford and regularly deliver to us other fresh seasonal vegetables and the most beautiful mixed bunches of country garden flowers through the summer.  Doug from Newbourne Fresh supplies us with his delicious strawberries, raspberries and blueberries in season and we have lovely free range eggs from Havensfield Eggs.  We also sell the great tasting and refreshing Charsfield Apple Juice, made with apples from the Charsfield orchards.  A local wholesaler, Richards Ltd, delivers other fresh produce enabling us to offer a full range of fruit and vegetables along with some lovely flowers grown at Leiston.

We have developed an extensive range of White House Farm preserves.  These jams and chutneys are made from plums, blackcurrants, apples, pears and tomatoes picked from the orchards at Grundisburgh and Charsfield and turned into our lovely preserves in small batches by Preserves of Suffolk.  They also make for us a Seville orange marmalade using a Youngman family recipe and strawberry jam containing Newbourne Fresh strawberries.

With free parking, no contact shopping, cash or bank transfer payment options and a fantastic selection of seasonal and local produce (with a few more exotic necessities) it makes for a very convenient, safe and wholesome shopping experience.
